It provides an affordable and flexible way to learn new skills, it’s your decision: what, when and where to learn; A lot of choices of how to learn; significant cost savings…
M: Massive, classes may consist of up of 100,000+ students
O: Open, open for everyone interested, open registration, open content…
O: Online, the course is taken online, online materials, local cohort …
C: Courses, engagement with materials, start/end date, scripted assessments. 
My first MOOC was about "Be a Successful Online Learner" that experience was special and entertaining. It gave me a lot of new skills and new informations that will help me in my future MOOC's.
